Scope of project:

Kwinana Marketplace is a large shopping centre located in Perth’s southern suburbs. Infrared Services was engaged by the client to perform maintenance, inspections and servicing on the site’s high voltage distribution network. This network includes GE 22kV transformers and ringmain units (RMUs), as well as associated GE low voltage Air Circuit Breakers (ACBs).

While this type of work is second-nature to the experiences technicians at Infrared Services, there were still logistical challenges to be considered during this project. They included:

– Developing comprehensive high voltage switching programs and shutdown schedules in order to complete the work safely whilst minimising disruption to major retail tenants.

– All work was required to be completed outside of business hours. As is always the case in these situations, we were happy to comply with this requirement.

Sound planning and execution, much of it based on our extensive experience, saw us manage these challenges and deliver on time, with a project value of approximately $15k.
